Logistics express industry is looking forward to new opportunities

Time : 2019-12-02

The Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway was officially put into operation on Monday. Yangcheng Evening News reporter learned that after the operation of Wu-Guang high-speed rail, Guangdong express delivery enterprises have tested the high-speed rail express transportation between Guangzhou and Changsha, and now the opening of Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed rail will bring new opportunities to China's logistics and express delivery industry.

"Before the Wuhan-Guangzhou high-speed railway opened, there was high-speed express transport between Guangzhou and Changsha." The person in charge of a well-known private express delivery company in Guangzhou told reporters that at present, about 80% of express deliveries are by road, and about 15% are by air. In fact, both in terms of time and cost, high-speed rail has advantages over roads. After the opening of the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway, many node cities in the middle are areas with strong demand for express services, and there is a lot of space.

It is understood that in mid-December, the State Post Bureau, the Comprehensive Transport Research Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission, and the China Express Association formed a joint research team to go to Guangdong Province to carry out field research on the use of high-speed rail transport by express delivery enterprises.

In addition to the express delivery industry, traditional logistics industries such as bulk commodity transportation are also expected to benefit from the opening of the Beijing-Guangzhou high-speed railway and the improvement of freight capacity on the Beijing-Guangzhou Line. Data show that only after the opening of the Wu-Guangzhou high-speed railway, the Beijing-Guangzhou Line freight capacity has increased by 10.9%, so that the long-term transport capacity of coal, oil, grain and other materials and Hong Kong and Macao foreign trade freight transport demand has been improved.
